That's what I get . . .
for telling people to shut up and call CPS. We had our first and hopefully last visit to our home from the Police. See I have been trying to be a responsible parent, teaching Owen about 911 and emergencies. I had just gotten off the phone with Grandma Mers and was writing instructions for the babysitter when Owen was absolutely convinced that the house across the street was on fire. So an emergency it was and 911 was the number to call. Unfortunately no fire. They called back and confirmed it was in error but it's their policy to send out someone anyway. Owen started crying asking me to please not let the Police take him to jail it was sad, funny, and embarrassing all at the same time. Luckily the Police out here are quite nice, back home in HB they really are a bunch of jerks, so he took a look around to make sure all was ok and Owen didn't go to jail. Hopefully that's the last house call we get from them.

Clay's Eye Surgery
Well, we are home and all seems to be perfect with Clay. The surgery (if I can even call it that really it is more of a procedure) was so quick. I had arranged for Owen to go to play group this morning but it was not needed because Clay was done by 7:30am. He was so chill as always and when he awoke from the anesthesia he smiled at the nurse, stood up, and put his arms out for her to hold him. She said it was a welcomed change as most kids wake up screaming, crying, and throwing their bodies around. We would've headed straight home but surprise surprise I locked my keys in the car (hopefully this will not become a recurring event)! Luckily the USAF is all about families and Brock was still home with Owen and was able to come and save me. I didn't mind it because it allowed me to hold my sleeping baby Clay for 20 extra minutes. When we got home I knew he was back to his old self after eating 2 egg sandwiches, 1 yogurt, 2 sippy cups of drink, and a banana. And he only weighs 23 lbs.? How is that possible! Hopefully this will put an end to perfect strangers stopping us in the most awkward places getting in Clays face saying in a totally annoying voice "Oh why are you so sad? Be happy baby don't cry!" And then looking at me like I am mean to my kid or something. Why do people feel the need to be retarded like that? Just shut up and call CPS if you are that concerned.
Here is Clay after the surgery a little sore and bloody but happy and snugly.

Our New Co-op Play Group
So we've had this new co-op play group for the last 5 months and we are having a great time. Much larger then the one in HB but it typically works out to a good (manageable) group of kids each Friday when we host. Today we had Emma & Reese and Brooke & Kyle. Owen and Emma were pretending to be mommy and daddy to this little weasel ball and then Owen ran up to me and said "Mommy I asked Emma if she wanted to marry me and she said no she's not old enough." That's my boy trying to make things happen.

Brothertime
We've been so bad about pictures recently I sure hope baby #3 gets at least one pic taken of him or her. I actually busted out the camera last night when Owen and Clay were getting ready for bed and wanted to read books together it was just cute to watch them read books and then switch books and laugh about their books like they knew what they were reading or something. They are really becoming quite good friends (minus the times Owen does American Gladiator moves on Clay or Clay walks up and hits Owen on the head with the toy hammer). We are having a good time.

Mutton Bustin
So you might be thinking to yourself dude the Ohlson's are like 7 miles away for the Super Bowl Stadium I bet they are partying it up with Paris Hilton, going to cool concerts, have front row tickets to the game, etc. We would like to think that's our life too but actually nothing could be further from the truth. We loaded up the kids and went to the town West of us, Buckeye, and went to the Senior Pro Rodeo. Yeah that's right, 40-80 year old men and women riding horses, bulls, and roping sheep. Man did we feel hip and cool! The highlight though was when they called out for all the Muttin Busters to come down. We didn't know if they would let Owen do it but my lawyer husband brought his skills to the table, signed away our first borns life, paid 10 bucks and this was the result . . . might I add he was the youngest competitor by 2 years!
