Bob The Builder Du-Du-Du

The boys and I headed up to Birmingham (about 95 miles north of us) on Saturday to give Brock the day to study. We went to the Mcwane Science Center where they were having a Bob The Builder Exhibit. I figured we'd only stay for an hour or two . . . after 4 and a half hours I had to pry Owen away. Needless to say we had a super fun day and only saw 2 levels of the 4 level Science Center. Owen woke up this morning and asked to go back but we told him it was closed because it was Sunday . . . then tonight he told me "Bob The Builder closed on Sunday, it get dark and open in the morning" Unfortunately he's right but we're going to hold off a few more weeks before we go back. Here are some shots from this weekend . . . .

Clay LOVES the swing

Owen just standing stone cold (the little guy on the right)

Fascinated by the ball and water

Standing like mom (we dropped the marble into this thing for about 20 minutes)

Pumping the water (his favorite from the Bob The Builder exhibit)

Owen is part of the Can Do Crew

Afraid of the live Bob . . .

. . . but not the fake Bob

Let's Be Honest Living With An Almost 3 Yr Old Is Difficult At Best . . .

Some days I wish I could trade him in or maybe trade me in, I don't know. Then there are moments that make it all worth it and remind me that I have the most perfect, loving, passionate, funny little boy in the world. Like when:

He said his first prayer. Praying for his Grandma Ohlson who was undergoing kimo for cancer . . . who by the way had her last treatment this week . . . Congrats Alesa you handled yourself these last 7 months like the valiant, classy woman that you are.

He says "I love you mommy"

Yesterday he stood up and clapped with the rest of the crowd with the most serious face you have ever seen at his first Montgomery Biscuts game

Today when we walked into the movie theater and he looks up at me and says "mom this is great!" and when we sat down and he took a look around he said to me "this is amazing, this is amazing!"

I love my O-we-O

Here is O chomping on cotton candy at the Biscuts game

Splish Splash Owen's Singing in the Bath

A rare moment when Owen actually was excited to preform for me so I had to get all the songs I could. Ba Ba Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle are our favorite . . .

If you click on the ? it'll take you to all the videos there are 4 total

A little time for Clay

Or Baby Clay as we like to call him. He is 10 and half months now and just growing so fast. He is cruising around on the furniture and just the other day stood all by himself for a few seconds. Still no teeth but we love his gummy big smile He is such a sweet, chill, funny little guy (a needed addition to our high strung intense personalities). Here are some of our favorite recent shots of the Baby Clay . . .

So Funny and So Not all at the same time

Owen has this new smile he does that just makes us laugh out loud . . . . most of the time. . . . . He has learned to do it when he does something naughty too . . . .

I know my ABC's

I am a big helper . . . even feeding Baby Clay

And I am growing up to be quite the slugger

Our Air Force Adventure Begins AZ to AL

SWEET HOME ALABAMA!! We made it safe and sound. We had a great trip from Arizona to Alabama. We spent 4 and a half days getting to Alabama. Brock drove us through the night Tuesday from Phoenix to San Antonio (that's 14 hours of driving). We stayed in San Antonio to visit with my dear friend Bre Jackson who has two girls within weeks of age of Owen and Clay, the kids had a ton of fun playing and I got a mini makeover with new makeup and a new hair cut - Thanks Bre! We hit the road for Louisana but on our way out of Texas we stopped at a small bbq joint just outside of Houston where Brock swears he had the best ribs (besides his mothers of course). We spent 2 days in Louisana taking the cajun country bayou backroad to New Orleans. We stopped on the way to see the Tabasco manufacturing plant - so SPICY! When we got to New Orleans we went to the French Market, took a buggy ride around town and had the BEST crab cakes for dinner, after dinner we got caught in the worst rain storm!! Owen was squealing with delight as we ran to our hotel but Clay was hysterically crying the whole way. Then it was off to Alabama, it has been beautiful so far, I think we will have a good time here.

How angry does this lady look to be stuck in the rain!

Oh no, I am one of those people from Arizona!!!

You know the people who say the heat really isn't that bad, that we still get out and play, and you can't tell the difference between 80 and 115. Yeah well you can't tell the difference because it is just freakin HOT HOT HOT! Like I said I am one of those people, we don't mind the heat at all and are having a great time here. Family really is all you need but I sure would love to have some of our HB friends here too. Owen saw The Bates Blog the other day and saw all his playgroup friends and got a little sad and mad to see that the fun was continuing without him (a piece of us will always be in HB).

Owen wears sunglasses everywhere he goes in AZ because it is too bright for his sweet little eyes.
